FRA LEOPOLDO

This devotion to Jesus Crucified owes much to the humble Franciscan lay brother, Fra Leopoldo Luigi Maria Musso, OFM, who died in the odour of sanctity in 1922.

Our Lord to Leopoldo: Go and write down that it is I, Your Jesus, Who has guided you when you wrote the words of this Heavenly DEVOTION TO JESUS CRUCIFIED (Adoration to the Five Most Sacred Wounds). You shall tell the members of the pious Union that I love them immensely, that their work is rather light as compared to the infinite reward I have in store for them.

Approved and granted indulgences, the prayer was translated into various languages and distributed by the millions of copies throughout the world.

This prayer Adoration to the Five Most Sacred Wounds, entitled Devotion to Jesus Crucified, is the one later approved and endowed with indulgences by His Holiness Pope Benedict XV, of revered memory, in 1915, and which was included, with a few modifications, in the volume Preces et Pia Opera of the Sacred Apostolic Penitentiary in the 1938 Edition, No. 170.

To the Wound in the Left Foot
O my Jesus Crucified, I kneel before Thee, in union with Thy Sorrowful Mother, with all the Angels and Saints in Heaven, I Adore The Sacred Wound in Thy Left Foot. I place in it, the Souls in Purgatory. I pray and beg of Thee by the merits of this Sacred Wound, to release the souls of the religious, the souls of our loved ones and those who have no one praying for them.

I place in it, all poor sinners.      I pray and beg of Thee by the merits of this Sacred Wound, to give Thy Light and Thy Grace to those who have asked for my prayers, those who suffer, those who are afflicted, abandoned, persecuted, the sick, and the dying, the souls who are in error, the unbelievers, those who do not know Thee and those who do not wish to become reconciled with Thee.

I place in it, the Sovereign Pontiff, all the Priests and Religious. I pray and beg of Thee by the merits of this Sacred Wound, to restore holiness to all the clergy and persons consecrated to Thee.

O my Jesus Crucified, I kneel before Thee, in union with Thy Sorrowful Mother, with all the Angels and Saints in Heaven, I Adore The Sacred Wound in Thy Sacred Side and Thy Sweetest Heart. I place in it, Thy One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church. I pray and beg of Thee by the merits of this Sacred Wound, to grant Thy Church victory over its enemies, and to all her children to follow the path of Thy Commandments.

Final Prayer
Eternal Father I offer Thee, The Holy Wounds of Our Lord Jesus and His Most Precious Blood and the Sorrowful, Immaculate Heart of Mary for the Glory of Thy Name and for the Salvation of all Thy children. Amen.

PROMISES 

In truth, I tell you, the homes where this devotion is practised shall be blessed. 19 Jan 1909

After your death, I will show you all the souls who have obtained salvation through this devotion.

A soul dedicated to this heavenly devotion shall not be lost. 1 May 1909

Those who practise this devotion with faith and love shall enjoy eternal happiness. 23 Aug 1909

Be it known to you, that I, Your Tender Love, Jesus Crucified, exult with the most noble and supreme joy, when I see Myself glorified by you on earth through your propagation of this devotion, so desired by Me, so that it may be remembered for all eternity that, without this Cross, sanctified by My most Precious Blood, no one will enter Paradise. 16 Nov 1909

You shall hear of the great marvels I will give to those who pray this heavenly devotion to Jesus Crucified (Adoration to The Holy Wounds). 18 Jan 1912

I will give a very ardent faith to those who will practise the heavenly devotion and I will continue to feed them with it. 7 Jan 1913

As long as you practise this heavenly devotion, you may rest assured that no evil will ever befall you. 18 June 1918

The souls who love Me, shall find Me near them in this devotion, and I will be their sanctification.

Here are the graces and blessings I will grant profusely to my devotees. I will grant them:
      the gift of tears,
      the compunction of the heart, and
      the food most necessary to their souls.

Don’t be afraid of losing merit for promoting My Work, My Mercy for My creatures who love Me much. It is even a good thing to take comfort, to rejoice in Me, Your Crucified Jesus, for many will become holy through the frequent practice of this most precious Devotion. 11 October 1906

Let it be impressed on the minds of men that when the Adoration of the Most Holy Jesus Crucified is established in all families, I shall console them with My grace… 24 Nov 1906

I need priests and preachers to teach this Devotion all over the world, so that I may shower people with health and My blessings. 28 January 1913

It will take a little time, but my Devotion will arise Glorious and Triumphant. 13 September 1914

JESUS TO FRA LEOPOLDO

You could not have shown Me more love than by distributing the leaflets of the Devotion to Jesus Crucified, so that they reach generous souls who will make reparation to My Divinity. 10 Oct 1908

When I ask you if you love Me, I do not mean you only and directly. My wish is to be loved through the Devotion to the Most Holy Wounds which I want spread throughout the whole world. 1 Jan 1909

Do you know why I love you so? It is because, in addition to you loving Me, you make Me loved as much as you can through this devotion. 19 Nov 1908

Continue working in my vineyard, strive constantly to spread this devotion, throughout the world.

THE BLESSED VIRGIN MARY TO FRA LEOPOLDO

Leopoldo filled with a powerful feeling of love for Mary Most Holy, asked her: ‘What can I do to console your Divine Son?’

Mary: Do what you do now: love Him, and make Him loved through the Devotion to Jesus Crucified (Adoration to the Five Most Sacred Wounds), inviting others to practise it, and in this way you will make giant steps along the path to holiness, drawing precious virtue from such a precious treasure. 6 November

The most effective means of halting scourges is the Adoration of Most Holy Wounds. 25 November

I am truly the Protectress of the Holy Adoration-Devotion to the Most Holy Wounds, and I am pleased that you call down blessings on all who practise it because there are truly so many graces and blessings that come from Heaven. 7 October, 1911

The Devotion to my Divine Crucified Son will cover the whole world with Mercy.

Great Mother of God, give me something that will sanctify me. Take the Cross and treasure it: it is the Tree from which come the most beautiful virtues and constant Sparks of Grace. 31 December, 1911

The Devotion to Jesus Crucified, Adoration to the Holy Wounds will bear great fruit in the world. 10 April, 1913

Spread the Adoration‒Devotion to my Divine Crucified Son Jesus, and at the hour of your death I shall come to take your soul. I am always waiting for someone to come and ask for my Heart and that of my Divine Son. Write that there are few requests. I give it to you for the whole world; pray for all those who do not have recourse to my Maternal Mercy. 18 October, 1913

You rank first among the merchants of the world because your Devotion to Jesus Crucified, is so agreeable to God that it gathers for yourself inestimable treasures for eternal life.

Those who like to worship my Divine Son, Jesus Crucified, gain merits not only from Him but also from me, His Mother. I will fill their hearts with the sweetest consolations.
